Makers List Compilation

The FAT’s importance cannot be underestimated. Major and secondary equipment testing is attended by our members in order to ensure that installed equipment is compliant to specification and contract as necessary meeting buyers’ expectations and regulatory requirements.

Shipbuilding Contract

The shipbuilding contract is the key element of a newbuilding project. Although considered a legal document we strongly believe that it should be thoroughly reviewed by a Technical team in order to make sure that quantification of all elements is correct and that the clauses set in the contract are protecting the buyers as much as possible. Our team of experts has many years of experience on contracts review and can ensure that the legal department will have that extra boost to help them finalize the contract.

Design Optimization

For common vessel types, standard designs from yards may be the best option for the client. However, it may be the case, that slight optimizations on the standard propellers or standard bow may give large benefits. Our designers can check the potential for gains versus the potential costs for owner’s consideration.
Additionally, makers and subcontractors can be audited before contractual acceptance.

Supervision.jpg

Supervision

The pinnacle of the shipbuilding process. Supervision teams on site are the eyes and ears of buyers with a task to make sure that the new ship is being built according to contractual obligations of the builder and to buyers standard governed by the specification agreement. Our aim is to provide to buyers with experienced and properly qualified personnel to man the site team since for us it is of the outmost importance that our clients feel safe that their assets is being supervised by the proper people.

It is an art and separate field than ship in operation. Under company training and guidance. Our team is consisted by field experts with understanding of ship production methods but also having experience from ships in service.

Having good knowledge of tasks involved can pinpoint major deficiencies, be more organized on timing of supervision and can create better cooperation with shipyard.

Shipbuilding experience is vital in order to understand shipyard standards, practices and quality control. Also better understanding of applicable rules and regulations

Spec+Review.jpg

Specification Review

The specification is possibly the most important part of the shipbuilding process as it defines the final product. Usually needs a huge amount of time, and in-house staff cannot afford the time from their day to day jobs in order to make a careful review. Omissions may be very costly to the client. Similarly, over designing the vessel is also costly to the client in terms of the agreed cost as well as for future maintenance costs. Our experience in newbuilds together with the ships in service from repairs and casualties helps us eliminate the noise in order to make vessel fit for the owners need.

Plan Approval

If done with diligence, a very time consuming process that is often overlooked under the pretense of having many sister vessels. However, each owner has different needs based on trade, management and crew. Inefficient designs may lead to unnecessary costs in the future or a constant nuisance to the crew.
